Meet Your Workshop Leader
Five years ago, Michael Matania successfully tracked down his estranged father to an address in the south of Spain, and set off from his house in South London on a 1000 mile pilgrimage to his front door. On the road, he had hundreds of conversations about men, masculinity and mental health - witnessing the near-universality of the male wound, and how this sits at the heart of our cultural, political and economic dilemma.
He previously led Mindkit, the UK’s largest peer-led resilience programme, and built a national professional network for Time to Change, the UK’s biggest workplace culture change initiative.
As a strategist with Mind, he co-designed the national mental health strategy for schools, and his policy work has influenced UK government positions on emerging mental health treatments.
Michael brings a unique blend of strategic thinking, evidence-based insights, and human-centred storytelling that leaves leaders thinking differently about performance, resilience, and the future of work.
